The Fortress of Hanuman
Bade Hanuman Mandir, popularly known as Hanumangarhi, is Ayodhya's most prominent landmark visible from all directions. Built in the 10th century, this fort-temple sits atop a hill accessed by 76 steps.
According to tradition, pilgrims must visit Hanumangarhi before proceeding to Ram Janmabhoomi. The temple houses an image of Hanuman holding infant Rama, with a shrine to Mata Anjani within the complex. The cave temple, fortified walls, and panoramic views of Ayodhya make this a must-visit destination.
